What is the Performax difference?

The Pursuit towards the achievement of our mission statement: “Optimum vehicle quality and professional customer service” highlights this difference. In the following pages we will explain the Optimum vehicle quality component of that statement and highlight to you exactly the differences and benefits you will receive when you have a vehicle converted by Performax as opposed to any other competitor in the world.

Fact: There is no other conversion company in the world who uses the technology that Performax use in RHD conversions.
Performax has invested in cutting edge technology that has changed the way conversions are done in Australia forever!

The others way
Previously, and still performed currently by others, conversion tooling and design work was all done with fibreglass and hand/guess work. For example a component is fibreglass moulded, cut and shut, shaped, tried for fit, reshaped (sanding and bogging by hand) etc until it is as close as can be. From there it is moulded and those components are made by hand laying up fibreglass into the mould. The trouble is it never looks right or fits right, edges are never square and it gets loose in time which means it squeaks and deteriorates. Other problems arise when you try to clip OEM parts back into the hand made article. They don’t fit or they fit for a month and then fall out or get loose and rattle, (items such as A/C directional vents, 4wd switches, headlight switches etc).

The Performax Difference

3 D Scanner
Performax has a state of the art 3 dimensional scanner that allows us to scan any article then produce it on a CAD programme. We then, through our software package, reverse engineer the article to suit the RHD environment.

3 D Printer
Once the article has been drawn, it is then printed on the 3 dimensional printer. This amazing piece of technology actually prints a solid plastic prototype which allows us to try the article in the vehicle. If any changes need to be made they are made back in the Cad programme and then reprinted. This takes all of the guess work and inconsistency out of the process and allows us to work with an exact replication. The quality of these articles produced this way set a new benchmark in the industry. Performax again has pioneered and is leading the way in conversion technology and quality.

  A/C Centre Vent (bottom)

These HVAC vents clip into place allowing complete airflow to all A/C ventilation outlets. Having your vehicle converted anywhere else, you will end up with handmade, flexible pipe that doesn't fit and jeopardises the intergrity of your entire air conditioning system.

Plastic injection

Once we have the perfect fitting quality prototype, we then manufacture a mould for the plastic injection machine. The mould quality matches the quality of the printed article retaining the clean crisp edges, all of the plastic tags and retaining and locating brackets. We can produce volume here and eliminate delay in the conversion process due to lack of supply. Once the mould is “shot” it cures and is then cooked and cured in a purpose built oven that regulates the temperature until the process is complete.

Laser cutting and folding

All of the brackets, plates, firewalls, rack mounts, support brackets, battery tray bases are all laser cut and folded, given their specific part number and catalogued individually. NOTHING is hand made. Everything that goes into your car is produced in this way. Click here to view some of the catalogued parts used in the conversion process.

Corvette C6 Steering Rack

Performax International has developed a steering rack which is re assembled into the original corvette outer housing. We have an alloy rack and pinion housing machined from Billet aluminium, a new pinion and rack shaft has been professionally manufactured meeting all industry standards.

The Performax steering rack retains the original Magnasteer (a corvette feature) and lock to lock turn and feel. Unlike some who use a commodore rack! Can you imagine having your 500HP Z06 being fitted with a rack designed for a car that has far less performance expectations and forces than a car of this pedigree? Another example of the performax difference.

So the obvious question to ask is “why would I take my vehicle anywhere else to have it converted with inferior quality, techniques and components?”

So don't compromise your vehicle with backyard quality and techniques, Experience The Performax Difference!
